7 Fun Spring Break Ideas for Port Orange Families

You may still be bundled up, but spring break will be here before you know it! Here in Port Orange, opportunities abound for family fun during spring break and all year long. Just read on as we share some of our favorite area activities.

Movies Under the Stars

Kick off your child’s spring break with a one-of-a-kind outdoor activity, such as Port Orange’s Movies Under the Stars! The next event takes place on March 13 at the Port Orange Amphitheater, where families can gather around to enjoy a screening of Frozen 2, as well as Kona ice, games, cost-friendly concessions and much more.

Marine Science Center

Located in nearby Ponce Inlet, the Marine Science Center offers kids of all ages the chance to learn about local marine life in an up-close, personal way. Live animal presentations range from Raptors Live to Bird Boardwalk Talks, Turtle Talks on the Turtle Terrace and many more—plus stingray feeding at the Stingray Touch Tank, and octopuses and seahorses in the Blue Room! Any way you slice it, a day at the Marine Science Center is equal parts education and adventure.

Cracker Creek

From family boat tours to thrilling kayak and canoe excursions, a trip to Cracker Creek lets you see another slice of the Sunshine State—an Old Florida escape surrounded by lush greenery and one-of-a-kind wildlife you won’t want to miss.

Riverwalk Park

Another great paddling destination, Riverwalk Park features a launch for your canoe, kayak or paddleboard, as well as a playground and splash pad for younger kids! Whether you’re on the water or simply enjoying the view, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy your afternoon at Riverwalk Park.

Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse

The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is one of Florida’s most beautiful landmarks—but it offers more than a gorgeous view! Take a tour with the family to learn more about the light, keepers’ dwellings, local wildlife and more. You can even head home with a special souvenir from the museum’s gift shop!

Pavilion at Port Orange Farmers Market

The Pavilion at Port Orange Farmers Market, held every Saturday, is a great weekend destination for fresh food, fun and entertainment. The whole family can even get together to pick out produce and goodies for a delicious homemade dinner.

Bonus: Brunch at Peach Valley

If spring break had a signature meal, it would be brunch. Breakfast on regular school and work days can sometimes feel like an afterthought—if it happens at all—but brunch delivers a delicious way to bring the family together, slow down and savor the simple pleasure of a homestyle meal! Wherever your spring break adventures may bring you, be sure to stop by Peach Valley Port Orange to fuel up with hearty flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere you’re sure to love.
