Savory Spring: 10 Ways to Celebrate the Change of Season

What does springtime mean to you?

For us, it’s fresh flowers, sunny days, and delicious aromas wafting in from backyard barbecues and al fresco dinners with friends… to name just a few!

In honor of the first weekend of spring, we’re taking a look at ten fresh ways to celebrate the change of season! Just read on to find one you love.

Deck out your outdoor entertaining space

Now that spring has sprung, it’s the season of baby showers, engagement parties, and, of course, those cherished just-because gatherings with friends. Whatever the occasion, now is a great time to deck out your outdoor entertaining space! Add new comfy cushions, sweep up the patio, introduce a water feature or two and you’re well on your way to an al fresco space that “wows.”

Bring home fresh flowers

Even in Florida, a state where we’re lucky enough to enjoy year-round warmth and sunshine, springtime still sees us searching for floral beauty! Bring home a fresh bouquet of flowers to brighten up your space—or, better yet, clip a few flowers from your own backyard garden.

Speaking of gardening…

Go gardening

Fusing your green thumb with your love of fresh food is a great way to celebrate the spring. Start an herb or vegetable garden and enjoy bright, zesty flavors with your next homemade meal!

Put a spring in your step

Who says you need to hit the gym to get your daily dose of exercise? A relaxing walk or jog around the neighborhood is the perfect way to get moving and enjoy the warm afternoon sun. You can even bring your four-legged friend for company!

Switch out your seasonal décor

If you haven’t already, now is a great time to switch out your seasonal décor! Time to store away the heavy blankets and drapes and bring in light-knit throws, sheer curtains and anything else that helps you enjoy the breeze all spring long.

Spend some quality time outdoors

Daylight Savings gives us the chance to enjoy outdoor time even later in the day—so mix up your midweek routine and head to the park with your family, spend some time in the pool, or pack a beach picnic! There’s no wrong way to indulge in the sunlight this spring.

Take a spring staycation

For a taste of vacation without need for a big suitcase or passport, take a spring staycation. Explore nearby museums, a beach you’ve never been to, or perhaps an upcoming food or music festival. Florida is filled with fun opportunities to discover—just take a look and see what’s out there!

Spruce up your surroundings

One of our favorite ways to kick off the spring season? Beautify the world around you! Whether you volunteer your time by picking up trash, helping to paint a local building or working on a community garden, there’s no shortage of meaningful ways to care for your community this season.

Try a brand-new recipe…

Of course, when we think “spring,” we think fun, fresh flavors! In the spirit of growth this springtime, hone your skills in the kitchen and try out a new recipe. It can be as simple as a bright fruit salad, or as intricate as a savory souffle—the key here is to have some fun and enjoy quality time with your family or friends, a.k.a. the taste testers.

… or kick back and relax

Of course, if you’re busy spending time outdoors and relishing your first weekend of spring, you might not have time to cook—so we’ve got you covered! Head down to Peach Valley for your favorite springtime flavors, from a colorful Veggie Omelet to a sweet Superfood Breakfast and everything in between.

What’s your favorite part of spring? Be sure to let us know in the comments below. From breezy beach day brunches to hearty lunchtime pick-me-ups, we’ve got you covered all season long.
