Summer is in full swing, and there’s never been a better time to get out and explore all that Central Florida has to offer.
In today’s blog, we’ll be exploring spots such as Orlando and Ormond Beach that pack as much character as they do fun things to enjoy. (The best part? Each spot on our list is home to a Peach Valley Café location—so you’re never far from your favorite comfort food fare!)
Take a look below to get started!
Welcome to The City Beautiful. In a spot as diverse and bustling as the cultural heart of Central Florida, it’s worth starting with the obvious: the beloved theme parks that call Orlando “home.”
You can don your mouse ears or go for big-time thrills at Universal Studios. Whatever park you choose is sure to deliver lots of excitement for the whole family—and if you’re a Florida resident, you can often snag a great deal on tickets! (An added perk of living so close is a time factor—you may be able to travel to the parks during quieter times, thus enjoying a less crowded experience.)
Of course, a big part of Orlando that is often overlooked by out-of-area visitors is its beautiful downtown area. If you’re hosting family and friends from out of town, we think it’s worth a visit! You can visit Lake Eola Park to enjoy a bit of aquatic ambiance, watching the swan boats as they go by. You’ll also want to be in the area for the Sunday Market as well as family movies on select nights throughout the summer.
For more fun in the city, you can even catch a show at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts! And here’s a sweet fact: there are two Peach Valley locations within Orlando, so you don’t have to travel far from wherever you are in the city.
One of the main attractions in the suburban community of Heathrow is golf, naturally Florida’s favorite pastime. If aquatic fun is more your style, fishing on nearby Sylvan Lake or Lake Mary is another way to enjoy your offtime this summer.
We can’t forget about Gainesville up in North Central Florida! Home to the University of Florida, this city packs lots of culture (and plenty of school spirit!) into its limits. Natural beauty is also abundant here, at destinations such as Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park, where visitors are invited to hike, watch wildlife in action, and soak up the shaded comfort of this miniature rainforest.
Perched on the Halifax River, Port Orange is a dream destination for boaters, anglers, and anyone else who can’t get enough time on the water. A little further inland, there’s even more to enjoy, such as Cracker Creek, a wooded waterway you can explore by canoe or kayak. It’s a top spot for outdoor adventurers!
You can enjoy a Peach Valley brunch on either east or west side of this charming coastal city. Ormond Beach extends out to the Atlantic, making sunbathing and exploring the shore top activities to enjoy. For a more outdoorsy experience, try Bulow Creek State Park, where you can paddle, hike, or bike your way through 5,000 acres of near-untouched wilderness. You never quite know what you’re going to find.
These are just a few of our favorite spots—we’d love to hear yours! Share them with us below as we continue to celebrate summer here at Peach Valley Café.
